The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a service that your employer offers to support you with personal and work-related challenges that may be impacting your wellbeing. It provides with you a safe, confidential support space just for you where you can find guidance around any challenges you may be experiencing.
If you are feeling unlike your usual self, tired, flat, anxious, exposed to a traumatic event, feeling disconnected, irritable or worried, for example, then EAP may be a helpful support space for you. Each session is 50 minutes duration and your therapist is there to listen and help you cope in a way that's free of judgement or expectation.
You are eligible for three counselling sessions. These are conducted over the telephone or online. To access the service, simply text your name and the word EAP to 0431 520 662 (ie Jane Doe: EAP) and our therapist will be in touch with you within the hour. We accept self-referrals between 8am and 5pm Monday-Saturday.
If you need additional EAP sessions, please discuss this with your therapist.
There is no cost to you to access the EAP service. It is funded by your employer.
No. There are strict rules that govern your privacy and confidentiality under EAP. However, if you choose to disclose that you are attending the service to your employer, that's fine.
